FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Friday 8/9/19

Friday brings around another slate ripe with pitching options at various price points, and hitting is in abundance as it's been all week. The Red Sox and Yankees are in great spots (again) and are joined by teams like the Astros, Brewers, and even the Royals.

Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.

On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Walker Buehler ($11,400 on FanDuel): Walker Buehler will cost you an arm and a leg, but he's demonstrated a gigantic ceiling this year, notching 58 or more FanDuel points five times, including a whopping 79 points twice. One of those 79-point outbursts came in his last start against the Padres, where he piled up 15 punchouts in a complete-game win. Overall, his 3.38 SIERA and 29.0% strikeout rate hang with the best on the slate, and his minuscule 3.8% walk rate ranks top-three among all qualified hurlers. The Diamondbacks aren't nearly as generous as the Padres when it comes to strikeouts, but Buehler has tallied 9 and 11 strikeouts in his last two starts against them, so don't rule out another potential gem. Arizona's active roster only owns a 95 wRC+ against righties, and they check in with a slate-low 3.24 implied total.
