As arguably the only true ace taking the mound on Tuesday, Justin Verlander makes for a conventional top choice at pitcher tonight, but we also have a wide range of tempting value options we can drop down to. There are plenty of solid hitting spots to draw from on this 15-game offering, but the Colorado Rockies jump out at Coors Field, followed by the Cleveland Indians.

Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Justin Verlander ($11,000 on FanDuel): If you take a quick glance at his game log, it might seem like Justin Verlander hasn't pitched as well of late, but over six August starts he's still put up a 2.37 SIERA, 37.0% strikeout rate and 3.7% walk rate, so we shouldn't worry too much about some recent modest results. Verlander's season marks easily best everyone else's on the slate, and he should be able to dispatch a middle of the road Minnesota Twins squad, who rank 16th in wRC+ against righties this year (97) and carry a slate-low 2.78 implied team total. Despite the lofty salary, there should be enough value to roster Verlander and still get your Coors Field fix, so he's your best option in cash games. However, there's plenty of merit to exploring tonight's cheaper options in tournaments.
