Traveling to Coors Field to take on southpaw Tyler Anderson and the Colorado Rockies, the Los Angeles Dodgers' 5.49 implied total is Thursday's second-highest mark.
Anderson's ERA has taken a big step forward this year, but his 4.25 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) is actually worse than the 4.14 mark he posted in 2017. He's also allowing a similar 31.7% hard-hit rate, and -- especially worrying in the thin Denver air -- his 39.4% fly-ball rate is a career high.
Manny Machado hasn't been overly productive since becoming a Dodger, but that's a tiny sample, and his overall 2018 numbers are some of the best of his career. His .388 wOBA and .242 ISO are both on pace to be career highs, and the 37.4% hard-hit rate and 43.9% fly-ball rate he has notched against southpaws are especially promising in this spot.
