5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 7/31/18
Daniel Descalso is in the midst of a career-best season, and he's got a sweet matchup versus Bartolo Colon. Which other cost-effective bats should you target on Tuesday?

Daniel Descalso, OF, Arizona Diamondbacks

Price: $2,600

Bartolo Colon is pitching for the Texas Rangers tonight, and that should mean big things for the Arizona offense.

Colon has a 4.67 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) over 21 games this year, and while that is an improvement over 2017's 5.08 SIERA, it's still an ugly mark. He's also allowing by far the highest hard-hit rate of his career (42.0%) to go with a 15.7% soft-hit rate and 34.2% fly-ball rate. Oddsmakers like Arizona to beat up on him, giving the D-Backs a strong 5.03 implied total.

Daniel Descalso is having a career-year from the dish, with both his .366 wOBA and .209 isolated slugging (ISO) sitting well ahead of his previous career-best clips (.332 wOBA, .163 ISO). Those numbers include a .365 wOBA and .199 ISO on a 38.9% hard-hit rate against right-handed pitching, putting him in a great spot against Colon.
