Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) will not play on Monday night, per James Palmer of NFL Network.
Sanders tested out his ankle in pre-game warmups and declared himself out for the matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. He is targeting a Week 9 return versus the Philadelphia Eagles, beating his original six-week recovery timetable by three weeks. Bennis Fowler will start in his place again on Monday.
Sanders has caught 25 passes for 266 yards and 2 touchdowns this season.
