New York Jets running back Chris Ivory is viewed as the 'unquestioned starter,' according to Zach Braziller of The New York Post.
Ivory has received a majority of the first-team snaps this preseason while producing 99 rushing yards on 17 carries with a touchdown. Backup Bilal Powell is viewed as a minor threat for playing time in a third-down role. Ivory has never had more than 198 carries in a season throughout his five-year career.
The Jets ranked 13th in our schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. Ivory ranked 24th out of 43 running backs with at least 100 carries with a -0.04 Rushing NEP per carry. Our algorithms project Ivory to finish the year with 755 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns, 25 receptions, 170 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown, as the 28th-ranked fantasy running back.
