Miami Dolphins' linebacker Koa Misi says he's playing SAM (strong-side linebacker) right now.
That means that teammate Kelvin Sheppard is playing the tackle-racking middle role in this defense, though the addition of Ndamukong Suh on the defensive line may suck up some tackle opportunities. This may just be an attempt to put one of their better linebackers in a good position to make plays.
The Dolphins' defense will no doubt be better than their middle-of-the-pack 17th-ranked squad by schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play from last year.
