Tavon Austin will miss Rams OTA's after wrist surgery

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin will miss OTAs after undergoing surgery on his left wrist.

What It Means:

Austin underwent arthroscopic surgery on Thursday. He should still be ready for training camp in late July. Despite his 4.34 speed and theoretical playmaking ability, the former first-round pick has never developed into anything more than a gadget player. Apparently now scheduled to play outside receiver under head coach Sean McVay, Jackson is going to miss valuable practice time in the Rams' new offense.

Out of the 41 wide receivers to see 100-plus targets last season, Austin's 0.27 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target were by far the least in the group. Next closest was Jeremy Kerley with 0.45 Reception NEP per target.
