Free agent quarterback Jay Cutler is "exploring a post-football career in broadcasting," reports Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Cutler's actions certainly suggest he's considering retirement, despite his rep's claims to the contrary. Per Garafolo, the quarterback and his camp "have spoken with network executives about football-related TV roles" with the quarterback even auditioning for "at least one network in recent weeks." It wouldn't be surprising to see Cutler choose the broadcast booth over a backup gig somewhere.
Among the 39 quarterbacks to top 100 drop backs last season, Cutler's Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back ranked fourth-worst.
