The New York Jets and free agent quarterback Jay Cutler share mutual interest, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Cutler figures to serve as a sort of bridge for a year or two before the Jets identify their next franchise quarterback for the long-term. They are also reportedly interested in trading for Trevor Siemian if the Denver Broncos make him available.
Among the 39 quarterbacks to top 100 drop backs last season, Cutler's Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back ranked fourth-worst.
