New York Jets quarterback Bryce petty will start the remaining four games of the season, according to head coach Todd Bowles.
Petty started in Week 10 and saw almost a full quarter of action last night, and with the Jets firmly out of playoff contention at 3-9, they have nothing to lose by starting the 25-year-old over veteran journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Petty also probably gives the Jets a shot at a higher draft pick this year, as his -1.71 Passing Net Expected Points per dropback rank 42nd among the 43 passers with at least 50 dropbacks on the season.
