Bills' Shaq Lawson (shoulder) may miss entire rookie season

Buffalo Bills rookie defensive end Shaq Lawson (shoulder) "could miss at least half the season and maybe the whole season," ESPN's Louis Riddick said in an appearance on WGR 550 Buffalo.

What It Means:

WGR 550 Buffalo's Sal Capaccio later heard from a source close to the team that the Bills aren't expecting Lawson to miss that much time as he recovers from shoulder surgery. His initial timetable was set at 5-6 months, and given that the procedure happened in May, missing the first month to month-and-a-half of the season seems likely. Nonetheless, this news has a bad floor and a worse ceiling.

Buffalo ranked 16th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play last season. We project veteran Manny Lawson for 83.58 tackles, 1.35 sacks and 1.00 interceptions this year in the younger Lawson's stead.
