Dolphins downplay Jaylen Waddle ankle sprain, Week 17 status uncertain

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has a high-ankle sprain that is “not overly severe,” per head coach Mike McDaniel.

What It Means:

Waddle is being held out of practice on Wednesday, but McDaniel claims he might be able to play in Week 17 against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Cedrick Wilson and Braxton Berrios will play more snaps if Waddle is ruled out. Tyreek Hill would also be able to draw more targets.

numberFire's models project Wilson for 5.1 targets, 3.1 receptions, and 38.1 yards in Week 17. The Ravens are allowing the 11th-fewest FanDuel points per game to wide receivers this season and they have the second-best pass defense in the NFL, according to numberFire's opponent-adjusted efficiency metrics.
