Steelers expecting a "big jump" from receiver Chase Claypool

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada told reporters that the team expects second-year wideout Chase Claypool to make a "big jump" in 2021.

What It Means:

Claypool flashed WR1 upside in his rookie season despite playing a limited number of snaps on the Steelers' offense. While the Steelers last season focused on short passes, Claypool earned a role as the team's best deep target and most efficient player, posting 873 yards and 9 touchdowns on just 62 catches. The sophomore could be in for a major breakout under his new offensive coordinator.

Our models currently project Claypool to finish the season as the Steelers' top fantasy wideout with 142.9 fantasy points. We have him slated for 1,020.6 yards and 6.9 touchdowns on 83.4 receptions this season.
