How to Utilize the Flex Spot in Fantasy Football
The flex spot is an under-discussed way to produce high-scoring weeks. How should you value it in fantasy football?

As the NFL evolves, fantasy football remains stagnant.

Sure, there are always new theories and strategies that adapt to what's happening on the field (naturally), but the game of fantasy football itself continues to be rather old hat.

You have your draft, you start a quarterback, a tight end, a team defense, and a kicker. You pair those with a handful of running backs and receivers -- generally two and three, respectively -- and that's about it.

The flex spot has come along and seems to be a little more prominent than in the past, and you now have the option to use a tight end there rather than the classic RB/WR position.

Same game. Different NFL.

And with the presence of PPR leagues and a pass-happy NFL, you can take advantage by targeting receivers early on in drafts, though you don't really need to value players at the same position differently if you're in a PPR league.
