FanDuel Single-Game Daily Fantasy Football Helper: Week 15 Sunday Night

Week 15's Sunday Night Football game features an AFC matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills. Following the main slate of action, fantasy enthusiasts can stay involved throughout the night by playing in FanDuel's Sunday night's single-game contests.

For those unfamiliar, single-game slates feature five flex spots with identical scoring to the main slate. However, kickers are included in these contests and there is an "MVP" roster slot. The MVP receives 1.5-times his total fantasy points, making this spot crucial.

Bookmakers currently favor the Steelers by 1.0-point with a 36.5-point over/under. Here are the notable matchups to target on this slate.

MVP Consideration

Josh Allen ($15,500) - With quarterback carrying elevated importance on single game slates, Josh Allen stands out for his rushing ability. Both quarterbacks draw tough matchups in this spot, with PIttsburgh and Buffalo ranking fourth and seventh, respectively, in pass defense this season, according to our schedule-adjusted metrics. However, Allen looks more likely to produce fantasy points due to his rushing ability. Currently averaging 35.6 rushing yards per game, Allen ranks behind only Lamar Jackson in rushing yards among passers. Importantly, Allen also had 10 red zone rushing attempts across his last six games. Despite the elevated price, Allen looks like the superior target here between the two signal callers.

James Conner ($14,000) - Sitting out with a multi-week shoulder injury, James Conner finally makes his return to Pittsburgh's lineup. Conner offers true three-down back upside. DFS players cannot be sure on Conner's exact playing time tonight, but he certainly brings the most upside of any of the Steelers' backs. When Conner initially suffered the injury in Week 8, he posted 145 rushing yards on 23 rushing attempts. Buffalo is a run-funnel D, ranking 22nd against the run, per our metrics, setting up Conner for a potentially big day.

Devin Singletary ($13,000) - Taking over the Bills' backfield in recent weeks, Devin Singletary hs played at least 70 percent of Buffalo's snaps in each of their last four games. In that span, he has averaged 17 carries per game with an additional 3.8 target per contest. While Pittsburgh ranks as our top run defense this season, Singletary stands out on the slate as Buffalo's top pass-catching back. With Buffalo projected to lose, perhaps Singletary finds a few additional targets in the pass game, and the overall volume keeps him firmly in play.

Value Plays

Isaiah McKenzie ($6,500) - Playing an increased role in recent weeks, Isaiah McKenzie has been in on at least 70 percent of Buffalo's snaps in three of their last four games. He also averaged 4.3 targets and 25.5 air yards per game in that span. Importantly, the Bills try to find creative ways to get the ball in McKenzie's hands. In their last four games, he's got two rushing attempts.

Dawson Knox ($6,500) - Another fringe Bills player, Dawson Knox has a favorable price tag. Like McKenzie, Knox has played at least 70 percent of the Bills' offensive snaps in four straight games. However, Knox averages only 3.3 targets per game in that span. The Steelers have shown some vulnerability to enemy tight ends this season, allowing 59 catches and seven scores to the position thus far. While both of those stats rank middle of the road, Knox could be utilized as a way to beat this Steelers D, particularly if Buffalo can't run the ball.

Nick Vannett ($5,000) - With Vance McDonald ruled out for this contest, the Steelers will move on with Nick Vannett at the tight end position. Acquired in a mid-season trade, Vannett already averaged 43 percent of Pittsburgh's snaps over their last eight weeks. While he put up just 1.2 targets per game in that span, he now projects to take on an elevated role without McDonald. It's a tough matchup, however, as only the San Francisco 49ers have allowed fewer receiving yards to tight ends this season. But at a bargain price of just $5,000, Vannett is a punt option worth considering.
