7 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 10

A season-high six teams are on byes this week, which has probably forced you to dig deep into your bench and the waiver wire to plug some holes in your lineup. If you're still looking for help finding some sleepers, this list should point you in the right direction.

For the purposes of this list, we'll limit sleeper selections to any player with less than 75 percent ownership on Yahoo's fantasy football platform. Additionally, I'll select one super-sleeper, with under 10 percent ownership, to help out those of you who may be playing in deeper leagues. All references to betting totals and spreads are from the NCAAF odds.

Jacoby Brissett or Brian Hoyer, QB, Indianapolis Colts

Yahoo Ownership: Brissett, 50 percent / Hoyer, 2 percent

Jacoby Brissett is dealing with a sprained MCL and was limited at practice on Wednesday, however, he has not yet been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. If Brissett cannot go, backup Brian Hoyer will make his first start since 2017. The Dolphins' defense is allowing 21.7 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, the fifth-worst rate in the league, so whoever starts for the Indianapolis Colts is worth considering for your lineup.

Ronald Jones, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Yahoo Ownership: 64 percent

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers backfield has been a fantasy wasteland this season, but Ronald Jones may have finally emerged as someone worth owning. Jones played 53 percent of the Bucs' offensive snaps last week -- just the third time this season any Tampa running back reached the 50 percent mark. Following the game, head coach Bruce Arians stated Jones had earned the right to an increased workload, indicating this was a purposeful move, rather than one dictated by game flow or injuries. This week, Jones faces the struggling Arizona Cardinals' defense. An opposing running back has posted at least 15 PPR fantasy points in five of nine games against Arizona this season, including three games over 25 points.

Kalen Ballage, RB, Miami Dolphins

Yahoo Ownership: 31 percent

Ideally you can avoid putting any Dolphins in your lineup, but if you're desperate for running back help, Kalen Ballage has emerged as a sleeper with Kenyan Drake now in Arizona and Mark Walton suspended. According to Sports Info Solutions, 31 percent of Ballage's carries have come in short-yardage or goal-line situations, which has made him a touchdown-dependent fantasy option. However, as the potential starter this week against the Colts, Ballage could see enough of a balanced workload to become fantasy relevant.

Marquise Brown, WR, Baltimore Ravens

Yahoo Ownership: 69 percent

Marquise Brown posted 30.7 fantasy points in Week 1 against Miami but has averaged just 9.7 points per game since. Inconsistent performance, plus an injury, has led to a drop in his ownership in recent weeks. In Week 10, Brown draws a Cincinnati Bengals defense which has been surprisingly strong against wide receivers from a fantasy perspective, ranking 18th in points per game allowed. However, according to Sports Info Solutions, opposing quarterbacks are completing 55.2 percent of their passes at 20 or more yards downfield against the Bengals -- the second-worst rate in the league. So while the Bengals secondary is containing most receivers, they're actually an ideal matchup for a deep threat like Brown. 26 percent of Brown's targets this season have come on the deep ball, so he will likely get a few opportunities to torch Cincy's secondary.

Jamison Crowder, WR, New York Jets

Yahoo Ownership: 62 percent

Jamison Crowder was on last week's sleepers list and cashed in with 22.3 fantasy points. The reasoning was Miami's struggles defending slot receivers, and the same applies to this week's matchup. The New York Giants are allowing 10.4 yards per target to slot receivers -- only the Dolphins are worse (10.7 yards per target).

A.J. Brown, WR, Tennessee Titans

Yahoo Ownership: 22 percent

Since Ryan Tannehill took over as the Tennessee Titans starting quarterback three weeks ago, rookie A.J. Brown is tied for the team lead with 18 targets. He's also seeing the field more frequently, playing over 60 percent of the Titans' snaps in all three games, including a season-high 69 percent last week. Brown primarily lines up wide for the Titans, which pits him against Kansas City Chiefs cornerbacks Charvarius Ward and Bashaud Breeland, both of whom have been inconsistent this season.

Chiefs CBsComp Pct AllowedYds/TgtTD
Charvarius Ward56.6%6.41
Bashaud Breeland48.6%8.83

Super Sleeper: Ted Ginn Jr., WR, New Orleans Saints

Yahoo Ownership: 8 percent

Ted Ginn Jr. is the New Orleans Saints' deep threat, with 39 percent of his targets coming at least 15 yards downfield, according to Sports Info Solutions. Ginn's quarterback, Drew Brees, has a strong history against the Atlanta Falcons -- he threw for 567 yards and 7 touchdowns against them in 2018. Due to a limited role in the offense, Ginn's fantasy value is always dependent on him cashing in on one or two big plays, but this Falcons defense has been friendly to opposing receivers this year. Atlanta has allowed 15 pass plays of at least 30 yards, fifth-most in the league, including 3 touchdowns.
