5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 7
Andrew Luck had his fourth straight game with at least three touchdowns passes. Which other noteworthy stats do you need to know?

The weird and wonderful 2018 NFL season is now seven weeks old, and the last round of games did little to dampen down a season that has already bore witness to a cavalcade of memorable moments.

New Orleans Saints quarterback, and future Hall of Famer, Drew Brees added another record to his incredible career on Sunday, throwing his 500th (and 501st) touchdown passes. Brees joins Peyton Manning, Brett Favre and Tom Brady as the only members of the 500 Club. In beating the Baltimore Ravens Brees has now achieved at least one victory over all 32 NFL teams. Only Manning and Favre previously laid claim to this accolade.

Adam Thielen and Todd Gurley both continued their incredible runs of dominance. Thielen recorded his seventh consecutive game with at least 100 receiving yards for the Minnesota Vikings in their win over the New York Jets, becoming only the second player to start a season with such a run. Gurley scored three touchdowns for the Los Angeles Rams against the San Francisco 49ers giving him 14 scores for the season. He is only the third player to have at least 14 touchdowns after seven games in NFL history, following Jim Brown (who had 15 in 1958) and former Kansas City Chiefs running back Priest Holmes. Holmes actually managed this twice, in 2002 and 2004.

There has been an overtime game in all seven game weeks so far, the first time this has ever happened during an NFL season. The Cleveland Browns have played four matches with extra time, the most by a team in a single season since the Arizona Cardinals back in 2011. The Cardinals won all four of their games, however. The Browns are 1-1-2 in their extended outings in 2018.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the other key stats -- both traditional as well as our advanced statistics -- to have emerged from Week 7.
