5 Leftover Free Agents Who Have Fantasy Football Potential
These players haven't yet signed, but if they land in a good spot, they could have an impact in fantasy football in 2018.

Jordan Matthews, Wide Receiver

2017 Team -- Buffalo Bills

Between 2014 and 2016, only 21 wide receivers scored more PPR fantasy points than Jordan Matthews, and those were his first three seasons in the NFL. Matthews' 225 receptions in his first three years are the 10th-most by a wide receiver in NFL history. Things haven't progressed from there.

On a per-play basis, Matthews has experienced a drop in efficiency since his rookie season. In 2014, his Reception NEP per target was 0.77, up from the league average of 0.66 for the wide receiver position. It dropped to 0.66 and 0.60 in his next two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, before jumping back up to 0.66 in his first (and it appears, only) season with the Buffalo Bills. But he only saw 36 targets last year on a team with the fourth-lowest pass-to-run ratio in the entire league (1.07).

Matthews has been hampered by a knee injury for which he received "bad diagnoses" from the Eagles in 2016, and underwent surgery on his knee and ankle in December. He may not be fully fit at the present, but he has attracted some attention from wide receiver needy teams like the Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers.

Obviously, Green Bay seems like a dream fit, and if that's where Matthews ends up, he would find himself tethered to a quarterback with a track record of propping up multiple fantasy-relevant receivers. It should also be noted that new Cardinals quarterback Sam Bradford averaged 8.27 yards adjusted yards per attempt when targeting Matthews with the Eagles in 2015.
