Fantasy football can be a cruel hobby. Fake footballers spend many a summer night plotting draft strategies, only to discover seven weeks into the season that some of those strategies won't work out.

Sometimes players seemingly have a path to relevance, but for whatever reason, their role never crystallizes, and thus, these players no longer deserve a roster spot on your fantasy football team. These decisions come easier with each passing week as player performance data is far more actionable after seven weeks than it is after three weeks. And in fantasy football, if you aren't doing a weekly roster examination to get dead weight off your squad to make room for upside stashes, you aren't doing it right.
