Having already suffered an opening day knee injury that doctors expected to end Rice's year, the 49ers wide receiver returned later that season only to suffer a broken knee cap in Week 15. His season ended with seven catches for 78 yards and a touchdown in just two games. This was the only season Rice played in less than 12 contests.
