March Madness: The Top 10 Individual Performances of the Opening Weekend
These 10 players delivered the best individual performances of the NCAA Tournament's first two rounds.

9. Shelton Mitchell, Clemson

Round of 64 vs. New Mexico State
nERD: 49.78
23 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds

The Clemson Tigers absolutely dominated the Auburn Tigers in the Round of 32, as they got an incredible performance from one of Mitchell's teammates. But in order to get that far, the Tigers had to avoid the upset against a very good New Mexico State team first. That's where Mitchell did work.

Mitchell was the biggest factor in the Tigers' victory over the Aggies, and his perfection from the charity stripe was a key part of that. Scoring 23 points on just 13 field goal attempts is the epitome of efficiency, but Mitchell was also able to distribute the ball, tallying 5 assists without turning the ball over even once in 35 minutes.
