The Chicago Bulls have traded small forward Doug McDermott and forward/center Taj Gibson to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In return, the Bulls are receiving Joffrey Lauvergne, Cameron Payne and Anthony Morrow. It's unclear if Gibson will be named the starting four, but this guarantees less playing time for Domantas Sabonis. The biggest winner is Bobby Portis, followed up by Cameron Payne, who will likely replace Jerian Grant as the starting point guard in Chicago. McDermott could be worth an add for those in need of three-point help, but owners can probably wait and see how the rotation plays out before making a move for Morrow or Lauvergne.
McDermott is averaging 10.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 24.5 minutes per game this season. His -0.6 nERD ranks 270th out of 463 players and is ninth on the Bulls.
