Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (left knee) is expected to miss the team's next four games, following the recommendation of the team's doctors.
Embiid was able to get through a full practice session, but per usual, the 76ers are going to take a conservative approach. The budding star admitted to experiencing some swelling on Thursday morning, which obviously isn't the best sign. There's no guarantee Embiid will be available after this four-game stretch, but if he can return, it would put him back on the floor March 3 against the New York Knicks.
Embiid has been terrific through his first 31 NBA games, averaging 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.9 steals, 2.5 blocks and 1.2 3-pointers per contest. He is also tied for 100th in the NBA and ranks second among Sixers players with a 0.8 nERD on the year.
