Robert Covington expected to play for Philadelphia on Wednesday

Philadelphia 76ers forward Robert Covington (ankle) is expected to play in Wednesday's season opener according to coach Brett Brown.

What It Means:

Covington tweaked his ankle in the Sixers' last preseason game, but at that point in the preseason, Philly was just being cautious. With the injury to Ben Simmons, Covington will slide into the starting lineup and be a nice source of three-pointers and steals for the Sixers.

Covington averaged 12.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 28.4 minutes per game last season. He owned a dismal -4.5 nERD last year, which was not helped by his three-point percentage dropping to 35.3 percent.
