Center/forward Pau Gasol will not pick up his player option with the Chicago Bulls and will be an unrestricted free agent.
This was expected to happen and now it's official. Gasol is believed to be a target of the New York Knicks, which would be a great place for him to land. He can always re-sign with the Bulls, but that likely won't happen, as they are a club trying to change their identity.
Gasol posted a solid 4.5 nERD, which ranked 39th, in 72 games played this season. He averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game, while recording a 52.9 True Shooting Percentage.
