Candace Buckner of IndyStarSports reports that center Shayne Whittington has signed a two-year deal with Indiana with the first year fully guaranteed.
The Western Michigan product appeared in two games this summer, averaging 12.0 points, 6.5 rebounds while shooting 38.9 from the floor including 2-for-4 from downtown.
Considering the fact that before the Summer League, Whittington hadn't played more than 20 minutes in a game in over a year, he will probably assume a reserve roll on a roster that already includes big men Myles Turner, Lavoy Allen, and Ian Mahinmi.
