Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid scored 49 points (17-of-24 field goals, 14-of-15 free throws) with 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 1 3-pointer, and 4 turnovers in 36.4 minutes of a 129-112 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
Embiid set a new career-high in points while continuing to take on a larger offensive role in place of Ben Simmons (back). It was the most points scored by a 76ers player since Allen Iverson turned in 53 on December 23, 2005. He also became the first Sixers player to record 49 points and 14 boards since Moses Malone in 1984. His next chance to shine will be on Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the front end of a back-to-back set.
Embiid scored a season-high 78.3 FanDuel points on Monday. numberFire's models project him for 21.1 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.7 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game over the rest of the season.
