Player props can be useful in a variety of ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash), to measure a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball.

While you can use those odds in fantasy, you can also utilize our fantasy projections and a variety of other tools to help make money betting everyday player props.

For this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint three spots where value can be had on a player's stat line, scoring, or even shot type.

Joel Embiid, Over 27.5 Points (-106)

Joel Embiid and the 76ers prep for Game 2 versus the Celtics, and he's coming off a strong performance in Game 1. Without Ben Simmons, Embiid is expected to take charge of the offense as the primary source of offense. In the first meeting of the playoff series, Embiid recorded 26 points in 37 minutes.

When Embiid plays between 30-39 minutes, he averages 26.7 points on the season. You can expect 35-plus from Embiid every game of this series. Embiid was too much to handle for Daniel Theis, and down 0-1, he's likely going to surpass his 15 field goal attempts from Game 1. numberFire's model predicts Embiid to record 27.0 points in 36 minutes in game two versus Boston, but I like the over on this one.

Joe Harris, Over 16.5 Points (-111)

Joe Harris has been one of the most consistent offensive threats for the Brooklyn Nets since entering the bubble. Harris' role with the Nets has become so significant with a chunk of the team opting-out or injured. Harris has scored 19 or more points in five of seven games in the bubble, and in the two that he didn't, he still recorded 14 points apiece in fewer than 30 minutes of action.

Harris scored 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting (57.1%), including three-of-five (60%) from downtown in Game 1. He's attempted double-digit field-goal attempts in all seven bubble games and tried at least five triples in six of seven. If game two is closer, Harris should play even more minutes leading to more shot attempts and opportunities. numberFire's model predicts Harris to score 15.5 points, but given his recent form, I'll take the over.

Michael Porter Jr., Over 16.5 Points (-111)

Michael Porter Jr. got the nod for the starting lineup in Game 1 of the Nuggets' playoff series, marking his first career postseason game and playoff start. He's been on a hot streak for Denver, and despite his 13 points and 8 rebounds in Game 1, he's a great bet to his over this number in Game 2. He started off hot for the Nuggets in on Monday, scoring six points in the first quarter, but slowed down with just seven points in the next two quarters and a donut in the fourth. As a starter this year, he's averaging 21.6 points and 8.3 rebounds over 34 minutes in 8 games.

When he plays more than 30 minutes this season, he's averaging 29.2 points and 12.5 rebounds. I expect MPJ to be more involved in the second half of Game 2 and to go over his 16.5-point total.
