3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 1/24/18
Fresh off an All-Star snub, Andre Drummond has a tough matchup tonight against Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz. Which other NBA players are worth avoiding on a big Wednesday slate?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference between winning and losing your contests. Which players should we avoid tonight?

Andre Drummond, C, Detroit Pistons

FanDuel Price: $10,300

Even though Andre Drummond has been playing well this season, he was probably snubbed from the All Star Game as a punishment for playing on a bad team. However, despite the strong narrative of a potential big game because of the snub, Drummond has the monumental task of playing against Rudy Gobert on both ends of the court tonight.

At his price tag of $10,300, Drummond needs at least 52 FanDuel points to start paying off value, and our models currently project Drummond for only 43.4. The Utah Jazz rank fourth-best against opposing centers on our DvP Matchup Chart, and in his last three games against Gobert, Drummond is averaging only 7.3 points and 10.0 rebounds.

Eric Gordon, SG, Houston Rockets

FanDuel Price: $5,200

With both Chris Paul and James Harden healthy, Eric Gordon has not seen as much usage in the Houston Rockets' offense. On top of his reduced role with a healthy roster, Gordon has to square off against the Dallas Mavericks on the road Wednesday.

Gordon has struggled away from home this season, posting a 38.9% shooting percentage as a visitor, which includes just 30.2% from downtown. Combine that with the Mavs holding opposing shooting guards to 0.76 FanDuel points per minute, and Gordon can be avoided on this big slate.

Dillon Brooks, SF, Memphis Grizzlies

FanDuel Price: $4,300

The Memphis Grizzlies are welcoming the San Antonio Spurs to Beale Street on Wednesday, fresh off San Antonio's win over the Cleveland Cavaliers last night. Even though there may be fantasy value with the Grizzlies depending on their injuries, Dillon Brooks is probably not one of them.

The Spurs are holding opposing small forwards to 0.76 FanDuel points per minute, and while the rookie has put up some big games this month, his matchup against Kyle Anderson is probably not one to target.
