5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays for 10/25/17
With Dwyane Wade on the shelf, J.R. Smith could see some quality minutes for the Cavaliers. Who else makes for a strong value play in Wednesday's NBA DFS contests?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Tyler Johnson, PG, Miami Heat

FanDuel Price: $4,200
Projected FanDuel Points: 21
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.01

With Dion Waiters being a game-time decision, backup Tyler Johnson could see an uptick in playing time tonight. Johnson is off to a slow start, as he's seen his scoring average drop through the first three games. He's still peppering the box score with per-36 numbers of 10.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, a steal, and a block.

According to our metrics, Johnson is projected to have the fifth-highest value among all point guards on tonight's slate.

J.R. Smith, SG, Cleveland Cavaliers

FanDuel Price: $3,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 24.3
Projected FanDuel Value: 6.22

J.R. Smith should get the lion's share of minutes tonight with Dwyane Wade being out of the lineup. Smith is shooting a paltry 20% from the field over his last three games, including a measly 2-of-17 from the three-point line, but he'll have a great opportunity to get out of his funk tonight versus the Brooklyn Nets.

Based on our projections, Smith has the highest value among all players at his position. It's a good idea to get some exposure to the Cleveland Cavaliers offense, as they have the night's highest implied total with 117.5 points.

Shabazz Muhammad, SF, Minnesota Timberwolves

FanDuel Price: $3,000
Projected FanDuel Points: 20
Projected FanDuel Value: 6.65

Jimmy Butler will miss his second-straight game, which means Shabazz Muhammad could see another productive outing. Muhammad is coming off a 14-point effort while logging 31 minutes as a starter. He does very little outside of scoring the ball, but priced at the minimum salary, he is a low-risk flier.

Muhammad owns the second-highest projected value at his position tonight.

Marquese Chriss, SF, Phoenix Suns

FanDuel Price: $4,300
Projected FanDuel Points: 23.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.46

Marquese Chriss is coming off a season-high 19-point effort as a starter, to which he added 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in 30 minutes. Chriss is an enticing value play considering his blocking ability, and could continue to see productive stats if he can limit his foul trouble.

Chriss is projected with the third-highest value among all power forwards on tonight's monster slate.

Jakob Poeltl, SF, Toronto Raptors

FanDuel Price: $4,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 23.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.79

The Toronto Raptors are ailing in the front court, so Jakob Poeltl is seizing his opportunity. The sophomore big man recorded a double-double on Monday and is averaging 12 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3 blocks in his last two games.

Poeltl is projected with the seventh-highest value among all players at his position.
