5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 4/6/17
The 76ers have been letting their rookies loose, including Timothe Luwawu. Which other low-cost options are in a good spot for Thursday's NBA DFS action?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Spencer Dinwiddie, PG, Brooklyn Nets

FanDuel Price: $4,000
Projected FanDuel Points: 16.3
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.07

As another lowly season comes to a close for the Brooklyn Nets, they ought to consider preserving their studs and let their role players get some run. Spencer Dinwiddie played more minutes than Jeremy Lin in their most recent game, and Dinwiddie has seen his minutes gradually rise over his last three games. During that span, he has averaged 9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2 steals.

He shares the second-best defense-versus-position matchup at his position on Thursday with Lin.

Timothe Luwawu, SG, Philadelphia 76ers

FanDuel Price: $4,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 20.8
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.33

Timothe Luwawu has been balling as of late, as he's averaged 38.8 minutes over his last three games. During that span, he has converted playing time into stellar production with 20.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.7 steals. There's no reason to believe that the Philadelphia 76ers will slow him down the rest of the way, so he should continue to see opportunities tonight.

Luwawu is projected to net the eighth-most FanDuel points among all shooting guards on tonight's slate.

Alex Poythress, SF, Philadelphia 76ers

FanDuel Price: $3,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 19.2
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.49

Speaking of the Sixers, Alex Poythress is another rookie who has been getting his shot to shine with Dario Saric being slightly banged up. Poythress has only suited up for two games, but has impressed with 10.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in 26.1 minutes.

Poythress surprised with the second-highest projected value among all small forwards on tonight's schedule. At minimum salary, he is worth considering as a flier pick.

Al-Farouq Aminu, PF, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $4,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 27.8
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.78

Al-Farouq Aminu has turned it up over his past five games, putting up averages of 14.6 points, 7 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and a block in 30.3 minutes. Tonight, he faces the Minnesota Timberwolves, a team he played just two days ago. In that game, Aminu posted 20 points, 5 assists, and 3 blocks.

Aminu has the second-highest projected value among all power forwards on Thursday's slate.

Shawn Long, C, Philadelphia 76ers

FanDuel Price: $3,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 19.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.01

Shawn Long is coming off a game in which he tied his career-high of 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting in just 17.4 minutes off the bench. He has been Mr. Efficiency in his young career, as he boasts per-36 averages of 24.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.6 blocks, and 1.3 three-pointers over 15 games played.

Long owns the third-highest projected value among all centers on tonight's schedule of games. He will continue to back up Richaun Holmes, but could see a slight bump in minutes as the season comes nearer to a close.
