NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Sunday 12/18/16

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes a lot on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and depending on injury news, even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer and a handful of other awesome tools to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with a primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate, which starts at 6 p.m. EST and features five games.

Best of the Best

Kyle Lowry (FanDuel Price: $8,500): Lowry is our third-ranked player for the main slate as we project him for 39.5 FanDuel points in a nice matchup with the Orlando Magic, a team allowing the eighth-most points to opposing point guards. Lowry has been an incredibly consistent producer, and he possess a very safe floor. He's scored at least 30 FanDuel points in 21 of his last 22 games, with the lone exception being a 29.1-point effort. The Toronto Raptors' implied total of 110.75 points is the highest of the night, and they're just a 6-point favorite.
