NBA Market Share Report: Jarrett Allen Brings the Hustle and the Value
Jarrett Allen is a young rim-protector stuffing the stat-sheet at the center position.

Young Bully in Brooklyn

This comes on the heels of a 61-fantasy-point explosion on Wednesday night, but even if we set aside Jarrett Allen's 20 points and 24 boards against the Rockets earlier this week, he’s still a capable big man well worth a look.

In the seven games prior to his performance against Houston, Allen has reached at least five-times value in six of them, including four games of at least 30 FanDuel points and a 48-point showing against Boston on Monday night.

There’s still a sore spot in my heart regarding Allen, as he was drafted by the Nets using a pick traded to them by my (lowly yet somehow still beloved) Washington Wizards in exchange for a rather terrible Bojan Bogdanovic rental. To think Allen -- a young and promising rim-protector who has already accumulated nearly 20 blocks in the month of January -- could be a contributor in DC is a pretty fun what-if for us miserable locals.

With Allen providing value as a rebounder, shot blocker, and maybe even a scorer (double-digits in six of his last eight), his average salary of around $6,000 over his last eight games is a pretty solid bargain.

Allen and the Nets visit the Magic tonight, followed by a game against the Kings before hosting Orlando in Brooklyn on Wednesday.
