3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 5/5/17
Patty Mills should step into a larger role for the Spurs with Tony Parker out of action. Which other low-cost players are in a good spot?

Pau Gasol, C, San Antonio Spurs

FanDuel Price: $4,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 29.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 6.01

Pau Gasol was inserted into the starting lineup and played 29 minutes in a blowout San Antonio Spurs win in Game 2. That was enough time for him to put up 36.1 FanDuel points. His four blocks and one steal definitely helped boost that number, but a deeper look suggests that he could certainly continue to be productive in this spot.

For starters, his opponent, the Houston Rockets, allowed the fourth-most FanDuel points to opposing centers and third-most to power forwards this season -- as well as the most points via the post up. They also allowed their opponents to block their shots more than all remaining playoff teams other than the Boston Celtics during the regular season, so while Gasol's four blocks were likely an anomaly, he definitely has the opportunity to contribute in that category.

Gasol should also benefit from the absence of Tony Parker, as only Kawhi Leonard has seen a bigger boost in usage rate with Parker off the floor this season.

All things considered, Gasol is one of the best center plays on the board at any price point, and it should come as no surprise that he is the best value at the position, according to our projections.
