Each NBA Franchise's Best Regular Season Performance Since 2000
Are the 73-win Warriors the best Golden State has to offer since the turn of the century?

When we think about the best teams in NBA history, we first think of Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls, Magic Johnson's Los Angeles Lakers and Larry Bird's Boston Celtics. But those teams were prominent in the '80s and '90s -- what about more recent years?

Do we first consider the Shaq-and-Kobe Lakers, the Big Three Celtics or the Big Three Heat? What about the 2015 and 2016 Warriors?

For all their greatness, are these even the best regular season teams their respective franchises have to offer?

There are many ways to find if that's true or not. Wins, win percentage and point differential are just a few, but our nERD metric measures a team's on-court performance in and of itself. It is a team ranking -- on a scale of 0 to 100 -- that is predictive of a team's ultimate winning percentage for the season. nERD dates back to 2000, so it allows us to compare the last 18 teams for each NBA franchise.

In doing so, which team best represents their franchise's regular season success? Let's find out!
