3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays for 2/10/17
A seemingly tough matchup against Hassan Whiteside and the Miami Heat should scare daily fantasy players off Brook Lopez, but a deeper look suggests he has exciting tournament potential.

Brook Lopez, C, Brooklyn Nets

FanDuel Price: $7,200

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

It should come as no surprise that the center position is loaded on tonight's nine-game slate, with the likes of DeMarcus Cousins, Karl-Anthony Towns, Hassan Whiteside, and Marcin Gortat among some of the names likely to be popular.

Amid those options, Brook Lopez probably won't be on the radar of most daily fantasy players in a matchup that is just average on paper.

Why You Should Use Him:

After posting a couple duds, Lopez has played much better recently, topping 20 points and 30 FanDuel points in four straight games. He'll look to build on that success in Friday's matchup against the Miami Heat.

Lopez struggled in his most recent meeting with the Heat, but he showcased his upside in the first game against them this season, totaling 40.3 FanDuel points. Given his performance in close games, it's not hard to imagine him posting a repeat performance, which has just a 6.5-point spread.

Miami has also really struggled to defend down low this season, allowing the fourth-most points in the post. Lopez sits behind just Marc Gasol and Cousins in points in the post this season, and his 53.4 percent field goal percentage on post ups is the highest among qualified big men, a category in which he also led the NBA in last season.

The matchup suits Lopez quite well, but his volatile nature from game-to-game makes him a bit too risky for cash games. However, he has plenty of upside for tournament use at his depressed price tag.
