Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson is starting on Thursday against the San Diego Padres.
Matt Kemp is getting a breather, so Kike Hernandez will cover right field and Pederson will handle things in left. He will also replace Chris Taylor as the leadoff man versus right-hander Tyson Ross and the Padres.
