Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Elias Diaz is not starting versus the San Diego Padres on Thursday.
Francisco Cervelli will take back over behind the plate while Diaz returns to the Pirates' bench. He went 1-for-2 with a double and 2 runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Chicago White Sox.
Diaz is averaging 7.9 FanDuel points per game this season. numberFire's models project him to hit .248 with 2 homers and 13 RBI with limited opportunity over the rest of the year.
