Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Elias Diaz is not in the team's starting lineup on Thursday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Diaz made a spot start and went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles on Wednesday. But, with Francisco Cervelli now rested, Diaz will allow him to start Thursday's tilt. The veteran backstop will hit sxith against Philadelphia's Jake Arrieta.
Our models project Diaz to hit .189 with 6 doubles and 9 RBI over the remainder of the season.
