The Tampa Bay Rays released reliever Daniel Hudson.
Hudson was expected to work in a setup role for the Rays after being acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates as part of last month's Corey Dickerson deal, but after a disappointing spring, the 31-year-old right-hander is now in need of new employment.
Hudson recorded a 4.38 ERA and 1.46 WHIP with 66 strikeouts and 33 walks across 61 2/3 innings for the Pirates last season.
