Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson (shoulder) is progressing slowly in his throwing program and is targeting the All-Star break for his return, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Nelson underwent surgery on his shoulder back in September and has been throwing off flat ground as he builds up his strength. He won't start pitching off a mound until after Opening Day at the earliest. He remains without an official timetable as the BRewers; take it slow with their top pitcher.
Nelson finished 2017 with a 12-6 record, 3.15 xFIP, 3.42 SIERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 199 strikeouts in 175 1/3 innings pitched.
