Per Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, Houston Astros manager A.J. Hinch said he's planning to move Yuli Gurriel around the infield this season.
In 2017, Gurriel primarily played first base, but the team's been experimenting with him at second and third base as well as shortstop. We could be looking at him playing more third than second or short, but his eligibility at different positions will be appealing for the Astros and fantasy owners. It's unlikely that this affects anyone in a big way. Alex Bergman might see a decrease in innings if Gurriel plays a lot of third in 2018.
While Gurriel logged 1,109 1/3 innings at first, he spent 7 innings at second, 49 innings at third and precisely zero innings at shortstop. At the plate, he produced 18 home runs and 75 RBI on a .351 wOBA.
