New York Yankees designated hitter Matt Holliday is not starting on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
This makes back-to-back games Holliday will be held out of the lineup. Since returning from the disabled list on July 14, the 37-year-old veteran has recorded a putrid .149/.206/.266 slash with 28 strikeouts in 102 plate appearances. Chase Headley will play DH again for the Yankees on Sunday.
numberFire's models project Holliday to turn in a .263 batting average across 22 plate appearances for the remainder of the season.
