Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado is not in the lineup on Monday against the Atlanta Braves.
This was expected after Arenado was lifted from Sunday's game after being hit by a pitch on the hand. X-rays were negative, but it looks like he will need at least one game to recover from the bruising. Pat Valaika is staying in the lineup, but moving over to the hot corner on Monday. He is also hitting down in seventh against right-hander Julio Teheran.
Assuming he stays just day-to-day, our models project Arenado for a .304 batting average, with 9 home runs, 30 RBI, and 26 runs scored over 178 plate appearances remaining this season.
