Houston Astros catcher Brian McCann is not starting on Thursday against the Chicago White Sox.
McCann will be replaced behind the plate by Juan Centeno on Thursday evening as the Astros take on left-hander Carlos Rodon and the White Sox. The veteran backstop is currently in the middle of a 3-for-29 drought (.103), so perhaps a day off will get him back on track.
numberFire's models project McCann to turn in a .250 batting average with 5 home runs, 17 RBI, and 16 runs scored in 138 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
