New York Yankees second baseman/outfielder Tyler Wade is not starting on Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers.
Wade will head to the Yankees' bench after starting the past two contests at second base. Through his first 14 games of big league action, the 22-year-old rookie is just 6-for-44 (.136) with 15 strikeouts (30.6 percent). Ronald Torreyes is starting at second base and batting ninth versus Tigers right-hander Jordan Zimmerman.
numberFire's models project Wade to record a .174 batting average in only 26 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
