The San Diego Padres have called up pitcher Kyle Lloyd from Triple-A and will start him versus the New York Mets on Tuesday.
The Padres have scratched scheduled starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin due to a back issue. The 26-year-old Lloyd will be making his MLB debut. He owns a 4.16 ERA with 112 strikeouts in 118 1/3 innings pitched in 20 starts between Double and Triple-A this season.
Our models give the Padres a 52.4% chance of pulling out the win against the Mets, who rank 17th in our power rankings.
