Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant (finger) could miss the entire weekend series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Bryant is still recovering after injuring his pinkie on a headfirst slide Wednesday. He's not expected, for now at least, to require a stint on the disabled list. Javier Baez is drawing the start at third base on Friday for the defending champs.
Bryant is slashing .275/.401/.528 with 19 taters, 40 RBI, 61 runs scored, and 7 steals in 389 plate appearances (88 games) this season. numberFire's models project him to record a .285 batting average with 7 homers, 20 RBI, 23 runs scored, and 2 steals in 145 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
