Cincinnati Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart is not starting on Thursday versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Barnhart will head to the bench for the second time in three contests while Devin Mesoraco draws the start behind the plate for Cincinnati. Mesoraco will catch Reds right-hander Luis Castillo while batting sixth versus Diamondbacks southpaw Patrick Corbin.
Barnhart is slashing .262/.322/.379 in 67 games this season. numberFire's models project him to record a .265 batting average in 165 more plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
